A competitive cyclist through his highschool years, Toudou specialized in being a climber. He likes to boast about his looks, believing himself to be blessed by the gods of fortune and beauty, caring excessively about his appearance and making him look shallow. However, Toudou has much more to him, such as his kindness and devotion to those he loves. One of them is Makishima, his rival-lover, for whom Toudou even considered losing races if it meant he could stay by Maki's side during difficulties.
